The Foreign Affairs Minister, Chet Greene, has extended warm congratulations to his Venezuelan counterpart, Yvan Gil, on the upcoming 42nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between St John’s and Caracas.

Minister Greene also received a congratulatory message from Foreign Minister Gil. To commemorate this significant milestone, Her Excellency Carmen Velasquez, Venezuela’s Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, visited the Foreign Ministry to present a token of appreciation to Minister Greene.

Venezuela has been a steadfast ally to Antigua and Barbuda, offering crucial assistance in various areas, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in 2017.

Moreover, Antigua and Barbuda is a member of ALBA, a coalition established by late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias and the late Cuban President Fidel Castro Ruz.
