An 81 year old Swetes resident has recounted a harrowing ordeal in which he was beaten and robbed at his home by two armed assailants Thursday morning.
The men ransacked his home in search of money and made off with his cellular phone, XCD$145.00 in cash and items of his clothing.
He said he fought back valiantly, kicking one of the men to the ground, but sustained injuries to his right eye during the incident.
The elderly man has received treatment at hospital and police are probing the incident.
Father Peter Mwaura of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where the robbery victim is a parishioner, condemned the incident and called on the perpetrators
