PRESS RELEASE

The Medical Association of Antigua and Barbuda is pleased to endorse the first cohort in the history of our twin island state to be enrolled in the highly intensive and significantly challenging OXCEP Academic Medicine Course 2024.

This affords a unique opportunity for the physicians to interact directly with more than twenty-five senior medical academics from the Medical Sciences Division of the University of Oxford within a period of two weeks.

Topics will include the advanced issues in the fields of Autoimmune Neurology, Population Health, Maternal and Child Health, Psychiatry, Translational Medicine, Respiratory Immunology, Oncology, Gene Therapy, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and much more.

In preparation for this journey, the delegates pictured below, met with Sir Molwyn Joseph, the Minister of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation and the Environment.

They were congratulated and encouraged as leaders amongst our health professionals to embrace the opportunity and to be a voice for one of many Small Island Developing States.

The delegates Drs. Jodi-Ann Haughton, Jonathan McComie, Adrian Rhudd and Shivon Belle Jarvis are scheduled to study the Course from June 30th to July 13th 2024, departing from Antigua June 29th.

We wish all participants the best and look forward to the positive change that such an interaction will bring.
