Nurses Protest Escalates with March to Prime Minister’s Office on Second Day

26 June 2024 - 14:50

Nurses are protesting for a second day to express their anger at dismissing a key official from the midwifery board.

They are upset that the principal nursing officer has been removed from the body responsible for maintaining professional standards and patient safety.

The decision to replace the PNO with an unnamed individual was made solely by the health minister, according to the nurses.

They gathered outside the prime minister’s office, where government ministers meet weekly, to voice their displeasure.
