Pastor Dr. Hensworth W.C. Jonas has urged for the repeal of the law that decriminalizes small amounts of cannabis for personal use, citing concerns for the welfare of Antigua and Barbuda’s youth.

The current Cannabis Act allows each household to grow up to four cannabis plants and permits individuals to have up to 15 grams for personal use.

During the launch of his book Radical Discipleship, Dr. Jonas expressed the view that enforcing the regulation of cannabis is extremely challenging.

In response to the concerns raised, the Government has initiated a study to assess the consequences of the legislative change.
