The impact of Hurricane Beryl on Grenada has been devastating, with the death toll rising to three.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell shared in a national address that two individuals lost their lives on the island of Carriacou, directly hit by the powerful category four storm.

Additionally, a man in Grenada tragically lost his life when a tree fell on his home.

The situation remains grim, with the possibility of more fatalities.

Carriacou and Petit Martinique have suffered severe devastation, leaving officials unable to use heavy equipment due to the shortage of fuel caused by the destruction of gas stations.

The extent of the destruction has drawn comparisons to the impact of Hurricane Ivan in 2004.

Aid is eagerly awaited for Carriacou and Petit Martinique, but will only be dispatched once it’s safe to do so.

Prime Minister Mitchell has called for unity among Grenadians as the journey to recovery from Hurricane Beryl will be long and challenging.
