Randy Baltimore has won the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s Primary and is expected to contest the St Phillip’s North Constituency for the ABLP in the next general elections

Baltimore won by an overwhelming number of votes. 423 to be extact.

Four candidates vied for the spot, which is now being held by Sir Robin Yearwood Snr.

Undoubtedly, Baltimore will have major shoes to fill, as Yearwood has decades of victories under his belt and has never lost a general election.

His son, Robin Yearwood Jr hoped to walk in his father’s footsteps but Baltimore, who was seen campaigning heavily on the ground now has that task

Residents say much of Yearwood Snr was not seen in the constituency

Meanwhile, the voter turnout in the ABLP primary in St. Phillip’s North was remarkable, with over 900 voters showing up after accounting for claims and objections.

This exceeded the 615 votes received by the UPP candidate in the 2023 General elections by a significant margin of 50 percent, totaling 300 additional participants.

Final count Balitimore 424, Cornelius 164 , Thomas 20 and Yearwood Jnr 50. There was 1 spoilt ballot. 658 people turned out to vote.
