More than 120 passengers who were set to fly with American Airlines to New York found themselves stranded due to mechanical issues with the Boeing aircraft.
Despite boarding the flight, they were asked to disembark, with the airline providing accommodations at various resorts in Antigua.
Unfortunately, the aircraft’s mechanical problems persisted, leaving passengers uncertain about when they would be able to depart. One individual expressed concern about a family emergency, stating that their mother had suffered a stroke.
Another passenger faced work-related issues, as they were expected to report to work on Monday.
While grateful for the complimentary accommodations and meals, one traveler emphasized the urgency of their business matters in New York. The uncertainty surrounding their departure time was a source of frustration for the stranded passengers.
A few American Airlines flights come to Antigua daily. If one has a mechanical problem put the passengers on the other flights that are not full. Some passengers may have to go through Miami to reach their final destinations. I remember stranded on American Airlines flight to Dallas Texas, and I had to stayed in the airport departure for about fourteen hours before getting onto another flight. Even human bodies breakdown what else do we expect for a plane a piece of heavy metal in the air. It is better to be stranded alive than being on crash plane dead. Have some patience we are just humans.
