The police have issued an urgent notice to vehicle owners whose cars are currently in police custody. Owners have until September 20 to reclaim their impounded vehicles or risk losing them to a public auction.

According to police records, a total of 73 vehicles are slated for auction if left unclaimed by the deadline.

The auction event is scheduled to take place at the Motor Pool and Police Headquarters, commencing at 10:00 am and continuing until all vehicles are sold.

This action is in accordance with the Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, which authorizes law enforcement to dispose of impounded vehicles through public auction or other means if they remain unclaimed by their owners.

The law stipulates a three-month window for reclamation following the impoundment or the final resolution of any related criminal matters.

Police officials are strongly urging affected vehicle owners to come forward and reclaim their property before the September 20 deadline.

To reclaim a vehicle, owners must present proper identification and proof of ownership at the designated police station.
