Primary in All Saints West Called Off

18 July 2024 - 05:07

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party has decided to not hold a primary to choose its candidate for the All-Saints West constituency seat.

E.P. Chet Greene, the chairman of the ABLP, confirmed this decision, which the party’s executive made during a recent meeting.

Lamin Newton and Registe Burton were supposed to participate in a primary this month, but due to an inconclusive poll, this plan was cancelled.

The current representative of the seat, Anthony Smith, resigned from the United Progressive Party and now serves as an independent candidate in parliament.

  1. I had to laugh. These guys think that Gaston was going to use either any of them as a candidate on the ABLP ticket. These guys jumping up behind the ABLP and Gaston doesn’t need you. He is going for the candidate in the UPP.
