Prime Minister and Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Leader, Gaston Browne, has officially announced that Lamin Newton will be the party’s candidate for the All Saints East and St Luke constituency in the upcoming general election expected to take place in 2028.
The decision was taken at a central executive lastnight, where Newton allegedly recieved the popular votes
Newton will be competing against Jamale Pringle, the United Progressive Party Leader, in this electoral race.
The announcement was made during the Browne and Browne Show on Pointe FM earlier today.
Notably, Newton had initially been contending for the candidacy of All Saints West.
However, the primary process for this constituency has been canceled.
Nonetheless, Prime Minister Browne is optimistic about the party’s prospects in All Saints West and has endorsed Anthony Smith Jr., who has now become an independent candidate following his departure from the UPP.
Moreover, discussions have commenced regarding a potential arrangement for Regis Burton, the other ABLP contender for All Saints West.
What’s up with Newton???? Take a rest, man. Are you so desperate to become an MP that you would accept just any piece of cheese being flung your way? How do you plan to convince All Saints East and St. Luke of your sincerity and commitment to their interests, having once represented the Ugly People’s Party and lost, crossing the floor looking for a short- cut to MPism, only to be blocked again by trust issues and recent developments….And now, your pathetic face appears again in another constituency for consideration. Lamin, get a real job. Stop appearing to be so desperate!
