Barbuda firefighters nearing end of training exercise

The extensive training sessions for firefighters who will play a pivotal role in the operation of the international airport on Barbuda is coming to a close.

According to information shared on the Government’s Information Service (GIS), the training is geared towards achieving International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO standards.

 

The training is covering various areas including airport familiarization, aircraft familiarization, Rescue and firefighting personal safety, Use of extinguishing agents for ARFF and Emergency aircraft evacuation.

The session are include Tactical ARFF fire ground operation, Attacking an aircraft fire, Maximizing the use of HRET, Response time among other areas.
