Montserrat Bankers Association Donates $20K to St. Vincent and Grenada for Hurricane Relief Efforts

Hurricane Beryl pummeled everything along its path, ripping up roofs of schools, crumbling homes and stripping trees of almost every leaf in St Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada

Press Statement

The Antigua Barbuda Montserrat Bankers Association (ABMBA) executive responded to the call from the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) for donations from corporate entities in Antigua & Barbuda to assist with Hurricane Beryl relief efforts.

The ABMBA contributed 20,000 EC dollars to be split evenly between Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines to procure aid for their impacted dependencies.

The devastation in the affected islands earlier this month was catastrophic and left citizens in dire need of basic survival supplies.

This cash donation from the ABMBA will contribute significantly to providing aid to the citizens of the affected islands. It is our social responsibility to come to the assistance of our neighbours in the OECS when in need, and we are proud that we were able to answer the call.” Remarked Ladesa James Williams, President of ABMBA.

A brief handing over ceremony was held at NODS and attended by representatives from member banks of the Antigua Barbuda Montserrat Bankers Association and personnel in the Ministry of Social Transformation and NODS.
