National sprinter Cejhae Greene’s Olympic journey came to an end on Saturday in Paris, as he narrowly missed qualification for the next round of the Men’s 100 Meters event.
Competing in Heat 8, Greene clocked an impressive 10.17 seconds, finishing fourth in a highly competitive race.
The heat was won by USA’s Fred Kerley with a time of 9.97 seconds, followed by Letsile Tebogo of Botswana (10.01) and Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes (10.03).
With only the top three finishers advancing to the semifinals, Greene’s Olympic campaign concluded despite his strong performance.
While Greene’s exit marks the end of Antigua and Barbuda’s track hopes in Paris, the nation’s Olympic aspirations remain alive. Attention now turns to kiteboarder Tiger Tyson, who is set to compete on Sunday, August 4th at 6:13 am.
The country rallies behind Tyson as he prepares to take to the waters, carrying the hopes of Antigua and Barbuda in this exciting Olympic discipline.
