VC Bird International Airport Resumes Normal Operations Today

VC Bird Resumes Normal Operations Today

The only international airport in the country, VC Bird International Airport, will resume normal operations today, Wednesday. It was closed on Monday night due to Tropical Storm Ernesto.

The airport initially opened for commercial flights at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, with only Inter Caribbean operating flights.

However, all international flights were canceled due to the storm. American Airlines will reportedly conduct a special flight into VCBIA on Wednesday to accommodate affected travelers in addition to their regular three flights from Miami and New York.

Other airline operators are expected to resume their normal schedules now that the airport is fully functioning.

The Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority has expressed its gratitude to all those affected by the closure and thanked the public and stakeholders for their cooperation during the storm.
