Villa Polyclinic
The Ministry of Health’s Cervical Cancer Elimination Unit has launched a new initiative to promote women’s health in the community.
A series of free Human Papillomavirus (HPV) screenings will be offered at the Villa Polyclinic over three consecutive weekends in August and early September.
The screenings are targeting women between 30 and 65 years old and are part of a broader effort to improve early detection and prevention of cervical cancer.
The screenings will be held on the following weekends: August 17-18, August 24-25, and August 31-September 1. On each of these dates, the Villa Polyclinic will be open for screenings from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The initiative comes as part of a larger national strategy to reduce cervical cancer rates. According to the World Health Organization, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women globally, but it’s also one of the most preventable and treatable forms of cancer if detected early and managed effectively.
For more information about the screenings or to schedule an appointment, residents are advised to contact the Villa Polyclinic directly.
