Police are continuing investigations into a robbery and a shooting incident involving three suspects.
Around 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, August 15th, the police responded to a report of robbery at Parham where two men allegedly assaulted and robbed the owners of a business place of an undisclosed sum of money.
The assailants fled the scene in a silver Toyota Mark-X motor car that was later intercepted by police at Ebenezer.
A confrontation ensued, resulting in an exchange of fire between the police and the suspects, and all three were injured and taken to the hospital.
One man was pronounced dead, while the other two are receiving medical treatment.
The police recovered a firearm and a modified flare gun, among other items from the crime scene. Further investigation are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner, Mr. Atlee Rodney is thanking the public for their support as the police continue to address the crime situation in the country.
He encourage business owners to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police in a timely manner.
Commissioner Rodney is also commending his officers for remaining resolute and committed in their fight against crime.
