Kite-boarder Tiger Tyson Considering Bringing Event to Antigua and Barbuda’s Shores

National kite-boarder and Olympian Tiger Tyson has suggested the potential for hosting an event on the shores of Antigua.

In a recent appearance on Observer Radio, Tyson revealed that he has been in discussions with representatives from a regional organization about the feasibility of organizing a kite-foiling championship in the near future.

“I have been in communication with an organization known as the Caribbean Foiling Championships, which has previously conducted several events in the Caribbean, excluding St. Martin and Antigua. They are involved in both kite-foiling and wing-foiling, which is gaining significant popularity.

Therefore, it is certainly worth considering the introduction of more events in the Caribbean, potentially attracting some of the world’s top athletes to showcase the sport and inspire local interest,” he stated.

Tyson recently represented Antigua and Barbuda at the Paris Olympics in kite-boarding, which took place in Marseille, France. He described the experience as ‘incredible’ and expressed his hope that his accomplishments will motivate others. “
Tyson concluded the event in 17th place overall, as more than half of the scheduled races were canceled due to insufficient wind conditions on race days.
