Former Attorney General Keith Ford
Former Attorney General Keith Ford will receive an official funeral.
Cabinet agreed on the matter this week.
The former diplomat who was also Minister of Legal Affairs from 1977-1994 served under the VC Bird administration for nearly three terms, taking up the mantle from Hon Cosmos Phillip QC who resigned.
After serving his time in government, Forde returned to private practice in 1994 and then retired after several years.
News of his passing came in August by the present AG Steadroy Benjamin who expressed his condolences.
The cause of death was not mentioned.
The funeral details for the former AG were also not mentioned during this week’s Cabinet meeting.
