Antigua and Barbuda and Monaco Discuss Further Strengthening of Tourism Cooperations

27 September 2024 - 17:32

Consul Marco Garavaglia and MP Charles Fernandez

Marco Garavaglia, the Honorary Consul of Antigua and Barbuda in Monaco, held talks with Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez and the delegation from Antigua and Barbuda.

At the ongoing Monaco Yacht Show, they explored ways to enhance collaboration in the tourism industry and in political-economic ties between the two nations.

The Minister highlighted the significant increase in tourism in Antigua and Barbuda in 2024. The meeting emphasized the importance of developing synergies to foster tourism growth from European countries and expand cooperation between Antigua and Barbuda, Monaco, and the rest of Europe.

The Consul expressed his commitment to enhancing Antigua and Barbuda’s image in Europe and stressed the importance of its participation in the Monaco Yacht Show.

He sees this prestigious event as a unique platform to promote the country as a luxury destination, attracting investors, tourists, and business partners, and to strengthen its presence in international markets.

“I am convinced that the participation of Antigua and Barbuda with a stand at the Monaco Yacht Show is of paramount importance for the growth and global vision of the two Caribbean islands, both worldwide and in Europe. This prestigious event offers a unique platform to promote the country as a luxury destination, attracting investors, tourists and business partners. It also strengthens Antigua and Barbuda’s presence in international markets, highlighting opportunities related to nautical tourism, sustainability and investment in tourism and infrastructure,” he said.

Events organized in both countries, such as Antigua Sailing Week and Monaco Classic Week, could benefit the cooperation.

These events could serve as showcases to promote tourism, culture, and economic development, creating new synergies between the respective maritime and tourism communities.

Events like Antigua Sailing Week and Monaco Classic Week offer excellent opportunities to further relations between Antigua and Monaco.

They promote a shared passion for sailing and cooperation in various areas, from tourism to maritime trade.

The Monaco Yacht Show ends on Saturday.
