Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the appointment of Lynford Inverary as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The decision was made during a board meeting in Port of Spain on September 28, 2024.

Inverary, an Antiguan national born in Guyana, brings over a decade of experience within CWI to his new roles.

His tenure has been marked by significant contributions to the organization’s strategic initiatives, most notably spearheading the development of CWI’s 2024-27 Strategic Plan, “The Long Run.”

This comprehensive plan aims to enhance governance, cricket development, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability for West Indies cricket.

Dr. Kishore Shallow, President of CWI, expressed confidence in Inverary’s appointment, stating, “Lynford’s exceptional leadership and deep understanding of CWI’s strategic goals make him an ideal choice to guide our organization through this transformative period.”

Inverary’s academic background includes a First-Class Honors Bachelor of Science in Management with a major in International Business from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, and an MBA from the University of South Wales.

Upon accepting the position, Inverary said, “I am honored by the Board’s confidence and look forward to implementing our strategic plan and shaping a strong future for West Indies cricket.”

Throughout his CWI career, Inverary has led several high-impact projects, including contributions to the Wehby Report on Governance Reform and the development of the Coolidge Cricket Ground Business Plan. His roles have included Business Planning Manager and Acting Corporate Secretary.

Inverary will assume the COO position on October 1, 2024, and begin his tenure as Acting CEO on November 1, 2024, following the departure of current CEO Johnny Grave.
