CAUTION ON FRIARS HILL ROAD
The Ministry of Works will be intensifying its efforts to bring a permanent resolution to the deteriorated portion of Friars Hill Road this week, recognizing the traffic congestion and safety concerns it has been causing for motorists and pedestrians alike.
Technicians have identified the issues and are now mobilizing all available resources to implement a lasting solution to the problem.
The Ministry, in the meantime, is once again asking the public to be patient over the next few days as its team members continue to work tirelessly in collaboration with the Antigua Public Utilities Authority to create a permanent fix to the issues to ensure safer and smoother travel for all road users.

Why does Antigua.. in 2024 STILL have easily fixed problems causing disruption? 🤷🏾♂️ consistent water? Electricity? Why are things left unaddressed??😤🤷🏾♂️
They need qualified engineers not family or friends to fix the roads in Antigua and Barbuda. Antigua roads needs recycled chip of rubber (tire)to be included in the black tar.
We also need better gutters and drains that water can escape and not accumulate on the road.
Poorly constructed highway with no proper drainage. Once it’s raining, the water seeps under the asphalt and eats the poorly compacted road foundation away. Another highway is deteriorating rapidly is the road going to and from the airport near Carlisle Estate area. The road was poorly constructed and designed. Dominica and Cuba have good highways. Public Works need to send some of the road guys there for a six months cross training.
If these roads were built properly things like these would have never happened in the first place
