Wreath Laying Ceremony at Heroes Park Honors National Heroes of Antigua & Barbuda

Yesterday, a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony took place at Heroes Park in Tomlinson, honoring the National Heroes of Antigua & Barbuda.

A distinguished gathering comprised of dignitaries, government officials, and family members came together to pay tribute to these remarkable individuals.

Among the attendees were His Excellency Sir Clare Roberts KCN KC, the Governor General’s Deputy, and Acting Prime Minister Sir Steadroy Benjamin KGCN. Members of the Diplomatic Corps also lent their presence to this momentous occasion.

 

Representatives from both the Bird and Walter families stood in solidarity, alongside delegates from the Reparations Committee and the National Security Forces.

The ceremony was marked by a series of heartfelt tributes as wreaths were laid for the honored heroes: Sir Vere Cornwall Bird Sr KNH OCC, King Court Tackey – Prince Klaas KNH, Dame Georgiana Nellie Robinson DNH MBE, Sir Lester Bryant Bird KNH, and Sir George Herbert Walter KNH.

The atmosphere was filled with reverence as the community came together to celebrate the legacy of these national icons.
