Shakyrah, a tourism marketing professional from Antigua and Barbuda, celebrated her victory at a pageant held on the night of Antigua and Barbuda’s independence.
She made history by winning four titles: overall winner, Best Evening Wear, People’s Choice Award, and Best Charity Pitch. In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude for the support from her friends, family, and the community.
Shakyrah highlighted her preparation, which included practicing questions and stage routines. The Miss Caribbean UK Organisation recognized her as a role model for embodying confidence and empowerment.
She also received the Best Evening Wear title for a gown designed by a close friend and was honored for her commitment to the Sunshine Home for Girls.
Looking forward, Shakyrah aims to use her platform to promote her heritage.
The first and second runners-up were Carla Mark-Thompson from Aruba and Layia Johnson from Jamaica, respectively. The event celebrated the cultural diversity of the Caribbean diaspora in the UK.
