Asot Michael, the Parliamentary Representative for St. Peter, may have been killed. The police are treating his death as a homicide. According to reports, foul play is suspected.

Michael, a controversial political figure was found dead in his home this morning by his maids. He was allegedly found in a pool of blood.

Sources say it appears that he was stabbed

Who is Asot Michael.

Throughout his political career, he held the influential position of Minister of Tourism, Economic Development, Investment, and Energy under Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Michael’s early political affiliations were with the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.

Born on December 21, 1969, in Guadeloupe, French West Indies, Michael comes from a family with a strong background in business and political engagement.

His education includes attending St. Joseph’s Academy in Antigua and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Barry University, followed by an MBA from the University of Miami.

After his studies, he returned to Antigua to contribute to his family’s business endeavors.

Michael began his government career in 1995 as a Special Administrative Assistant to then-Prime Minister Lester Bird, later taking on the role of Chief of Staff.

His political trajectory progressed as he became a Government Senator and a full minister overseeing various critical portfolios.

In 2004, he was first elected to the House of Representatives, successfully maintaining his seat through subsequent elections.

His efforts in tourism were recognized in 2016 when he received the Best Tourism Minister Award from Caribbean Journal.

However, his career faced challenges when he was detained during a transit at Heathrow Airport in 2017 in connection with allegations involving a British investor.

Despite denying any misconduct, he was temporarily relieved from his ministerial duties.

Michael returned to office after being re-elected in 2018 and continued to serve as Minister of Investment and Trade, with commendations for his contributions to the nation’s development.

    Stab wounds? It’s easy to get into someone place and stab them now? I mean every behavior comes to an end. Would the earthly God rose again like our heavenly God?
