The Antigua and Barbuda Network of Rural Women Producers and Swetes Village Uncovered are among 22 local organizations awarded a $50,000 grant through the Caribbean Feminist Climate Justice Movement (CFCJM), in partnership with the Global Fund for Women.

These grants will fund grassroots projects in Antigua and Barbuda, addressing the intersection of climate action and gender justice. In total, 22 organizations across ten Caribbean nations are receiving support to tackle climate challenges affecting marginalized communities, including women and gender-diverse people.

Each organization, including those from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, and The Bahamas, has been awarded $25,000 to champion climate initiatives focused on food security, economic justice, and gender equity.

Saran P. King, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Network of Rural Women Producers/Processors, highlighted the grant’s impact, explaining that it will support the group’s plans to establish an eco-friendly agro-processing factory for agricultural and non-food products in Antigua and Barbuda. The Caribbean Network of Rural Women Producers/Processors aims to empower women in agriculture and foster sustainable development in the region.
