The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been enlisted to assist in the inquiry surrounding the murder of Member of Parliament Asot Micheal, as reported by sources familiar with the situation.

A young male suspect is currently in custody while law enforcement continues its investigation.

It has been reported that this individual was detained while attempting to flee the country and is believed to be of Jamaican heritage.

Authorities have chosen to remain discreet regarding the case details as their inquiries progress.

In the meantime, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has stated that his administration will allocate all necessary resources to the police to ensure the apprehension of those responsible for the murder of Micheal, the St. Peter’s MP, whose body was discovered in a pool of blood at his residence in Dry Hill on Tuesday morning.

The police have classified the death as a homicide, indicating that foul play is suspected. Reports indicate that Micheal sustained multiple stab wounds, and a photograph obtained by Antigua.news shows blood emanating from the back of his neck and other areas of his body.

Real Talk, when it comes to death which not one of us can delay, choose your words wisely. A word to the wise (and careless and foolish) is sufficient.

Honorable Prime Minister, please be reminded and NEVER forget, that ALL LIVES MATTER! Cries for justice are still loud for the unsolved murders committed in Antigua and Barbuda especially those of the two teenaged girls recently tortured, murdered and discarded like trash. Their families, loved ones and the public at large need to be reminded in an equally tangible way that here in Antigua and Barbuda, ALL LIVES MATTER.
