Senator Shanella Govia Officially Sworn in as Minister of State

Shanella Govia has officially taken the oath of office as Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries.

In her new role, she aims to drive initiatives that enhance educational opportunities, promote sports development, and foster community creativity.

She will also be made Leader of Government Business in the Upper House.

“Her future depends on herself. She has demonstrated her ability to lead. She will have a great political future and the PM recognizes it…” Acting Prime Minister Sir Steadroy Benjamin said

He said the entire Cabinet was in favour of this position and believed that she would one day become a government minister.

Foreign Affairs Minister E.P Chet Greene says he is satisfied with this level of involvement, especially where young people are concerned.
