Diann Black-Layne Co-Chairs Finance Committee as Key Reports Unveiled at COP 29

The Standing Committee on Finance (SCF), co-chaired by Diann Black-Layne from Antigua and Barbuda and an EU representative, held an interactive session at COP 29 focused on global climate finance.

Black-Layne emphasized the importance of the Biennial Assessment (BA), which shows a general increase in climate finance flows and its significance for developing countries.

Antigua and Barbuda is actively working to build capacity in various sectors to effectively access and manage these funds, aiming to ensure they directly support local communities in enhancing resilience to climate impacts.

Black-Layne announced plans for further updates on these initiatives during the upcoming budget presentation.

The session attracted diverse participants, fostering discussions on advancing the climate finance agenda, highlighting Antigua and Barbuda’s leadership in this area.
