Brandon Potter Excels at World Maritime University

Antiguan Brandon Potter stood out as one of the top graduates among 134 students receiving their Master’s degrees from the World Maritime University located in Malmo, Sweden.

He completed his degree on November 2, 2024, earning a Master of Science in Maritime Affairs focusing on Port Management.

The UN-funded scholarship, awarded to young Potter and his peers from 130 countries involved in port operations, aims to implement global strategies for port operations.
Throughout his time at the World Maritime University, he traveled to various countries, observing the functioning of some of the world’s largest and most significant ports, including those in Denmark, Germany, Hamburg, Tokyo, and Poland.

He acquired knowledge that will enhance the connectivity and efficiency necessary for managing an international port as Antigua and Barbuda strives to become a leader in Caribbean ports.

Brandon earned the opportunity to demonstrate his leadership skills through his initial scholarship from the Antigua Port Authority.

He first showcased his true abilities while attending the Marine College in Jamaica, where he excelled.

In Europe, his vibrant personality and dynamic energy were positively received, and he accepted his certification amidst cheers and applause from his fellow students and professors.

Brandon is the child of trade unionist Ralph Potter and his mother, Sharon, who works as a banker.

  1. Congratulations Brandon Potter! We need you back here in Antigua and Barbuda to manage our Port. It is time for a native born of the soil to take full management of our Port. I am proud of you young man. Bring everything you learned and implement and execute a proper management system and policies for our Port that would benefit our country and its people.
