Body modification artist gets 11 years for rape

27 November 2024 - 10:59

Karl Warner

Body modification artist Karl Warner has been sentenced to spend just over a decade in prison.

Last month, Warner was found guilty of seven counts of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl over a three-month period in 2021.

The artist had befriended the teenage victim after she visited his business, where he offers body piercing services, to inquire about a procedure.

Warner’s inappropriate relationship with the underage girl developed during subsequent visits to his workplace, sometimes while she was still in her school uniform.

In the trial, the court heard evidence of multiple sexual encounters between Warner and the victim, with the first incident occurring on February 24, 2021.

Justice Tunde Bakre sentenced him to spend 11 years in prison yesterday.

    • Cutie Benjamin controls the law system in Antigua and Barbuda. Whatever he and Gaston said should become public knowledge can be published. Remember, our government (whoever is in power) makes these laws in parliament and cabinet. People with high status are protected from the public.
