Ivor Bird

Antigua.news has confirmed the passing of Ivor Bird, a prominent Antiguan businessman.

He was discovered dead by a family member this evening.

Ivor Bird, the son of Vere Bird, a former Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, and the father of politician Sean Bird, was not known to have any serious health issues at the time of his death.

Ivor Bird was also a talented high jumper, having been the last gold medalist in that event at the British West Indies Championships in 1965.

His brother, Lester Bird, was also a track athlete and a former champion at this competition.

Additionally, Ivor represented Antigua and Barbuda in high jump at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games.

Condolences to his family.
