In a bold move to enhance its presence on the global stage, the CEO of LIAT 20, Hafsah Abdulsalam, has unveiled exciting plans to broaden the airline’s services to key markets in Latin America, North America, and Europe.
This significant announcement was made as part of the celebrations surrounding the inaugural flight of LIAT 20, which successfully took off for Tortilla yesterday.
Abdulsalam’s vision aims to connect more travelers with diverse destinations, marking a new chapter in the airline’s journey.
“Watch the space, we are coming,” she said
She emphasized that LIAT is firmly committed to providing outstanding service, guaranteeing same-day travel for our valued customers.
“Connecting the islands is more than a service, it is a lifeline. It binds our economies, defines our families,” she said
According to Abdulsalam, flying LIAT 20 will promote trade, enhance tourism, and inspire cultural activities. She stated that LIAT 20 is about operating aircraft and connecting lives, dreams, and futures.
“Imagine a Caribbean where travel is seamless, local business and prosper, where every flight strengthens the bonds that make us not just neighbors but family”, she said.
Meanwhile, at the premiere of the BVI, Natalio Wheatley welcomed LIAT 20 to the BVI and said affordable, reliable, and available airlifts are critical to expanding the BVI economy.
“Airlift is important for the growth and expansion of our tourism industry…presently we are witnessing a surge of interest from major airlines and other service providers and markets. The BVI appreciates the role of intraregional transportation in the development of economic opportunities across the Caribbean”, he said
Kye Rymer, the Minister of Communication and Works, emphasized the significance of LIAT 20 for the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and welcomed the partnership.
“We have been intentional about enhancing intraregional travel, and we are pleased to mark this inaugural call. LIAT has always been an important partner for the BVI, serving as the airline of choice in the Caribbean. We are confident that LIAT 20 will continue this legacy,” he stated.
The service will offer daily flights connecting Tortola to St. Kitts, St. Maarten, and Antigua, from where travelers can access other regional and international cities.
May the good Lord continue to bless,, manage and guide LIAT 20/20.: Save us from the cultist opposition forces who have no good intentions for the people, especially the working poor of Antigua and Barbuda..LIAT belongs to we!!!
Liat 20 has come to make it all possible. awesome news to the ears of the caribbean. but with these thoughts in the pipeline will the prices be more affordable than other airlines who usually fly to these countries? will liat be a help for the low class and possible middle class?
This sounds lovely. I hope these flights will be affordable.
I hope you guys here are not expecting LIAT 20 to carry the Caribbean alone; the same low prices you expect and are asking of LIAT 20, you are also demanding of the other airlines. LIAT 20 cannot be the only airline that must lose here. I’m just saying
