Legal wrangling continues to delay opening of Cancer Center

You can now listen to Antigua News articles!

The reopening of the Cancer Centre continues to be delayed, affecting cancer patients in Antigua and Barbuda.

This setback is due to legal intervention initiated by the previous owner. Currently, patients in need of radiation treatment must travel to Colombia to receive the necessary care.

However, this process often requires a companion for the patient, along with hotel accommodations and ground transportation, significantly increasing the overall cost compared to receiving treatment in Antigua.

The Cabinet recognizes the urgency of this situation and is actively seeking a swift resolution to this critical health challenge.

This is so true I am one who can speak of this experience….I had to reach out to a business owner to fund my ticket and my companion’s ticket reach out to the PM for accommodations assistance call his office his cell even to his Pointe FM station to only be greeted with either he just left to catch a plane or he is off island..MBS only pays for the treatment….hospital charity is a waste or only help people of high standards in society

You know I honestly thought that this sale was a done deal. It is for the good of the cancer patients. But now there is a legal matter? Only in the beautiful Antigua.
