Local Ownership Dominates: 95% of Airbnb Owned by Residents

The government has effectively arranged additional accommodations beyond our usual large hotel properties, ensuring that all SIDS conference attendees are well accommodated.

Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez highlighted that, to date, Antigua and Barbuda boasts 425 AirBnB properties offering 980 rooms, with an impressive 95% of these properties being locally owned.

This initiative not only provides a diverse range of lodging options for visitors but also supports the local economy by involving community members in the tourism sector.
