In a significant step towards improving safety at local beaches, lifeguards have successfully completed their Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
This essential training equips them with vital skills to provide primary care during emergencies, ensuring a rapid and effective response to incidents that may occur under their watch.
The training program, overseen by the Beach Safety and Security Unit, has been designed to bolster the lifeguards’ ability to manage a wide range of medical emergencies. With certifications now in hand, the lifeguards are more prepared than ever to protect and assist beachgoers.
In addition to the lifeguards’ enhanced skills, the Ministry has announced plans to install two new beach towers. These structures will not only improve the lifeguards’ vantage point for monitoring beach activities but also enhance their visual reconnaissance capabilities.
This initiative aims to boost overall beach safety, allowing for quicker responses to potential hazards and improved surveillance of the area.
Together, these advancements reflect a commitment to safeguarding the well-being of beach visitors and creating a more secure recreational environment.
As the busy beach season approaches, the community can feel more confident knowing that trained professionals are ready to respond to emergencies and ensure a safe beach experience for all.
