Rising Together – Empowering Our Community: 2025 is Our Year, St. Mary’s South!

New Year’s Message from Hon. Kelvin Simon

As we step into 2025, I do so with immense gratitude for the honor and privilege of serving the people of St. Mary’s South. This new year is a reminder that, even in the face of adversity, by the grace of God and through our collective resilience, brighter days are ahead.

The Prime Minister’s reports of economic growth and record-breaking tourist arrivals may paint a rosy picture, but for too many in St. Mary’s South, those signs of hope remain out of reach.

Our roads continue to deteriorate, the daily struggle for water persists, and the pharmacy in Johnston’s Point remains closed. Bolans’ clinic and police station are still without the essential upgrades they need to serve our community properly. These are not just inconveniences—they are barriers to the quality of life we deserve. Yet, even in the midst of these challenges, I believe 2025 holds the promise of new opportunities for our community.

I remain committed to pushing for the fulfillment of the pledges made during the by-election. We have so much to offer—our land is rich, and our people are even richer in talent, ambition, and heart. I will continue to advocate for the repair of the play field in Bolans, so our youth can once again enjoy this facility that has strengthened our community bonds. While the prospect of stadium seating is welcome, the disruption it has caused to local sports must be addressed with urgency and care.

I will also continue to press for air conditioning in every school and the delivery of the financial support promised to small businesses. These are not luxuries; they are investments in the well-being and success of our people. Our children deserve to learn in comfort, and our businesses deserve the support needed to thrive and grow.

The strength of St. Mary’s South lies in our unity, our resilience, and our unwavering belief in better days. Together, we will rise above the obstacles, holding fast to the spirit that makes our community extraordinary.

May this year bring prosperity, health, and hope to every home. Let us step forward together, determined to shape the future we know is possible.

With every good wish for 2025,

Hon. Kelvin Simon
M.P. for St. Mary’s South

Shugy, where are the rich investors you said you had lined up during the byelection to tackle community projects?

Lying for votes is a sin “Apostle Shugy!”
