Government Acquires Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall

The government of Antigua and Barbuda has officially acquired the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall building located near Sea View Farm, following the completion of the purchase.

During a Cabinet meeting, representatives from the Jehovah’s Witness organization handed over the 6-acre property to the government after the purchase price was settled. The meeting also involved the transfer of multiple keys for access to the various locks on the premises.

With the building now under government ownership, it was decided that there would be a need to hire daily security, along with maintenance staff, groundskeepers, and cleaning personnel.

A team has been formed to come up with a name for the upcoming “wellness” center. There was no consensus on the suggested names, and these will be reviewed by the Cabinet before an announcement is made in the near future.

The plan includes renovations to Clarevue Hospital to accommodate patients with severe conditions at the St. John’s Village facility, while those needing short-term care will be treated at the Sea View Farm center.

Consultations are set to begin today, according to the notes.
