Unimpeded Access to Jolly Beach Prioritized as Nikki Beach Project Enters 1st Phase.

(St. John’s Antigua, January 13, 2025); The first phase of the newly launched Nikki BeachResort and Spa project being undertaken by The Ayre Group in collaboration with the Nikki Beach Hospitality Group has commenced. This initial phase has seen the start of demolition and construction activity as well as the erection of a new beach access walkway and parking facility.

The new beach access walkway is located near the entrance to the Jolly Beach Resort. A newly constructed boardwalk, approximately 500 feet in length, is in place and will provide direct access to the beach. In addition, an ample parking area has been established.

Minister of Tourism the Hon. Charles Fernandez was recently given a firsthand opportunity to view the development as priority is being given to ensuring that locals and visitors alike continue to have unimpeded access to the beach.

“I am very pleased with the intentionality of this phase of the Nikki Beach development, ensuring that locals, visitors, and even the vendors in the vicinity are able to continue their routine activities in a safe and unrestricted manner. The walkway is well constructed, wheel-chair accessible and well lit”, remarked Minister Fernandez.

The Hon Minister continued that “because of the start of this first phase of demolition and construction, it is expected that access to private properties adjacent to Jolly Beach to all vehicles and pedestrians, particularly in areas along the canal, presently used for trade will be restricted, however, through the foresight of the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda, a decision was approved and granted to allow new public access and parking to be constructed.”
