Immigration Search For Escape Jamaican National

Akido McDonald of Jamaic

The Immigration Department is searching for Akido McDonald of Jamaica, who escaped from their detention center.

The 26-year-old resident of St. Ann was denied entry into the country on Thursday, 23rd January 2025, and was detained at the Immigration Detention Centre at Coolidge.

He somehow managed to escape from the facility around 3:40 pm on Friday and is still at large.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to notify the Department of Immigration at 562-5394, 764-3240, 562-8620 or the nearest police station.

The Immigration Department is also reminding residents that it is a serious offence to harbor or assist anyone to elude them.

  1. The detention center must be like a hotel, with no secured holding cells /room. Correct that because there’s too much escape happening there. Only when one of these escapes commit a serious crime when escaped the authorities will do something meaningful about security at the detention center
