Fernandez Highlights Resilience of High-End Tourism Amid Tariff Challenges

Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez

To uphold the high-quality services expected by luxury travelers, the minister announced ongoing collaborations with the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI). These initiatives aim to cultivate a skilled workforce able to meet the demands of high-end tourism.

Additionally, discussions are underway with the University of the West Indies Financing and Investment Committee (UWI FIC) to further enhance the skills of local hospitality professionals.

Fernandez also revealed fruitful discussions with the Ambassador of Ireland regarding the potential implementation of training programs for hospitality workers through exchange programs and specialized short courses.
