Local Organizations Benefit from $105,000 Raised in CIBC’s Walk for the Cure

CIBC Caribbean’s annual fundraising initiative, Walk for A Cure, successfully raised around $105,000 last year

The announcement was made by Khadijah James, co-chair of the bank’s Walk for The Cure Committee, during a presentation event at the Royalton Chic Hotel in Dickenson Bay.

James expressed pride in CIBC Caribbean’s commitment to this important cause, highlighting that the 2024 Walk for the Cure marked the event’s 13th year.

She noted the variety of fundraising activities held throughout the year and mentioned a record turnout at the main event in October.

Over the past five years, from 2019 to 2023, Team Antigua raised a total of XCD $310,230. James proudly shared that this year’s fundraising efforts exceeded expectations, bringing in XCD $105,000, which is up from last year’s donation of XCD $90,000. This brings the total contributions to XCD $415,000 over the six-year span.

Looking ahead, James also unveiled the committee’s planned activities for 2025, which include:

Ongoing Raffle for the Cure

Walk for the Cure – October 11, 2025

Jam for the Cure (T-shirt Mas) – July 26, 2025

Gala for the Cure – June 7, 2025

Hike for the Cure – May 3, 2025

Music for the Cure – March 8, 2025

Funds raised through Walk For The Cure events benefit two key organizations: the Oncology Department at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and Breast Friends.
