Country’s Second Homicide Victim Identified as Richard Whinfield

Deceased, Richard Whinfield.

Police are continuing investigations into a shooting incident at Swetes that resulted in the death of 40-year-old Richard Whinfield of Swetes.

It was reported that around 10:30 pm on Friday, 7 February, a lone assailant approached several men on foot at St. Ann Road and fired multiple shots a them.

Two men, including the deceased were transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Whinfield succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:28 pm.

Meanwhile the second victim, a 31-year-old of male of Hatton remain hospitalized, also nursing multiple gunshot wounds to his body. His injuries are serious; however, not life-threatening.

The police are asking anyone with information surrounding this incident to contact the All-Saints Police Station at 460-1000 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913.

  3. Seems as if the shooter was concentrating on these two. Multiple gunshot wounds. My condolences to those affected. Hope the other one pulls through
