A Community Unites for Temporary Road Repairs in Buckley

10 February 2025 - 05:30

In a display of community spirit, Buckleys residents came together to assist with urgent temporary road repairs, demonstrating the strong bond and commitment to progress in the All Saints West constituency.

MP for that constituency, Anthony Smith, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated community members who stepped up to help address the area’s pressing needs.

“We are truly thankful for the incredible support from our community. Your dedication and willingness to lend a hand embody the true spirit of our constituency. It’s a perfect example of what can be achieved when we come together to face challenges,” Smith said

In light of recent road conditions, the All Saints West office has pledged the necessary resources to support ongoing repair efforts, reinforcing the notion that “it takes a village.”

Smith also announced that roadwork will resume this week, and comprehensive maintenance will be planned to enhance travel safety for all residents.

Additionally, the local government will initiate pond clean-up efforts in the area. Residents living near the ponds are advised to remain patient and cooperative during this important process.

  3. Public Works needs to split up the road crew and equipment into groups and different constituencies instead of having all the workers and equipment in one area. Take an example from the neighbouring island of St Kitts and Nevis. Public Works minister’s and road engineers travel overseas a lot, and they can take examples from other countries to get several roads rehabilitated done yearly. Public Works have the staff, equipment and materials so that should not be a problem. Split the road crew up in night and day shift.
