One Nation Concert nets over $300,000 in revenue according to financial reports
Over $300,000.00 was made from last month’s One Nation Concert.
The financial report stated that the concert which for the first time charged patrons an entrance fee and extended to a two-day festival, collected over that figure.
A specific number was not shared in this week’s Cabinet notes.
Expenditure did however total 1.5 million dollars.
The question about whether this concert is a profitable one for the government was raised during this week’s Post Cabinet Press Briefing.
Cabinet Spokesperson Lionel Hurst said they “make no apologies for hosting the concert” as the event aids in breaking down specific social barriers between the Caribbean countries and strengthening the religious ties for patrons.
A proposal remains for the concert to now transition to a three-day event.
The first day for calypso and soca; the second day for dancehall and reggae; and, the third day for Gospel.
At the most recently held concert, the largest crowd attended on the Sunday night when gospel was the genre.
