Prime Minister Gaston Browne has urged for immediate national elections in Haiti to facilitate the formation of a legitimate government that reflects the will of the Haitian people.
He expressed this sentiment during his address at the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM held in Barbados.
In his remarks, PM Browne emphasized the necessity of political stability and legitimacy for the troubled CARICOM Member State.
He argued that electing new leadership in Haiti is essential to strengthen governance structures and restore law and order.
According to him, achieving political stability is crucial for re-establishing a secure environment.
Additionally, the Prime Minister proposed that the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) should receive enhanced security assistance temporarily from the United States, Canada, and the European Union to effectively address the chaos caused by gang violence.
We need to stay away from Haiti and their affairs. The situation in Haiti is NOT simple.
For once Caricom, stop talking and start doing… please!!!
Only God can save Haiti. I grieve for the people who live there and their own neighbor Dominican republic does not want them
PM Browne’s call for elections in Haiti is key to restoring stability and legitimate governance.
