PM Browne Endorses Rawdon Turner as Potential Future Leader of Antigua

Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Rawdon Turner

In a display of confidence, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has expressed his belief that Rawdon Turner, the newly elected Member of Parliament for St. Peter, possesses the potential to become the country’s next leader.

Turner, who recently secured an impressive 75% of the vote—the largest margin amongst sitting MPs—was addressed by Browne during a parliamentary session.

“You’re young enough and capable enough to become Prime Minister of this country,” Browne remarked, highlighting Turner’s significant electoral success. This encouragement serves not only as a personal endorsement but also as a call to action for Turner to consider the future of his political ambitions.

Turner was officially welcomed into the House of Representatives by the Speaker and fellow members earlier today, marking the beginning of his legislative journey.

In his address, PM Browne emphasized the importance of prioritizing the needs of his constituents, stating that they have placed their full confidence in Turner.

As Turner steps into his new role, all eyes will be on how he leverages this support to impact his community and potentially the nation in the long run.

His fresh perspective and the backing from seasoned leadership like Browne could play a significant role as he navigates his responsibilities in parliament.

  3. Hmmmm I wonder how Chet feels about that.
I don’t see Turner in that role thought. He is a bit arrogant, not charismatic at all.
I agree we need young blood at the helm but is Turner the right person!

  4. Prime Minister Gaston Browne is having a moment, and y’all need to stop believing everything he says. PM said “Future” that could be in 20 years since it seems he want to hold on to power for a while….I am thinking Prince might be Prime Minister before Turner can get a chance. In any case…I seriously wonder if his enthusiasm is based on genuine confidence or just political strategy.
