Energy Minister holds dialogue on Renewable Energy with key stakeholders

28 February 2025 - 16:35

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda February 14, 2025…Stakeholders on Renewable Energy sat down with Energy Minister Hon. Melford Nicholas to discuss more collaborative ways to reach certain targets mandated by the Paris Agreement.

The discussions examined collaborative ways to reach climate action goals, including mitigating and adapting to climate change, with transparent reporting and strengthening of the said goals.

Minister Nicholas said the impact the process and some imperatives have on APUA need to be ironed out specifically when it relates to the grid, integrating renewable energy from resources on the island.

This, being the first meeting, saw staff from the Department of the Environment, APUA, the Ministry of Health, and the Energy Unit.
