Doctor to Face High Court for Sexual Offences

1 March 2025 - 10:27
A physician has been committed to stand trial in the High Court on charges of serious indecency and indecent assault following a ruling by Magistrate Dane Hamilton.

The doctor was taken into custody in May of last year after a female patient reported inappropriate sexual conduct during a medical consultation.

The patient alleges that during a routine examination, the doctor inappropriately touched her and exposed himself.

Defense attorneys Hugh Marshall and Lawrence Daniel submitted an application to have the charges dismissed, filing a no case submission.

Magistrate Hamilton rejected this application and instead ordered the case to proceed to the High Court during its next assizes.
