Not all 82 year Olds have dementia. Judging from what i saw and heard on the video, during the confrontation with the police officer,, I doubt it!
I do agree that, based on what was shown in the video, the arresting officer could have exercised some restraint in dealing with an elderly person. The arresting officer needs to give account for his horrific handling of the matter. Was the red vehicle an official police vehicle? Why was the old man forced into the “trunk” of the vehicle.? Did the old man ever get an answer to the question he kept asking the officer i.e.”What is the charge?”(or words to that effect). Very disturbing video.
I hope a lawsuit is coming soon for that poor professional display by that police officer…is there no legal and professional expectations for officers?….if this was done by an ordinary citizen, would it not justify charges for assault?
